PERFECTION X OBSESSION

Call me Rosa Proenza, Rosa Schouler or even better Rosa Porenza Schouler as I'm absolutely in love with their Pre-Fall 2011 collection. Patterns, colors, shapes and knits- everything is in perfection. Yeah, I don't mind a head-to-toe Proenza Schouler look at all!

and while I'm at it, here their new, pale Spring/Summer 11 ad campaign.

Carve me out in Carven

I very often find myself drooling over the Carven website.

I was even that close from owning a coat, but the story is too sad to be told, and the story of Carven is more interesting anyway.

Created in 1945 by Carmen de Tommaso, a woman so small (1m55) she had to give up her architecture studies to design clothes that would fit her properly. She opened her store at the Rond Point des Champs Elysées. Her simple, casual yet oh-so elegant style quickly seduced French and Hollywood actresses. She later broadened her activities to menswear, kidswear, perfumes and... Air France stewardess uniforms.

Now that Madame Carven has retired (she is 101), Guillaume Henry (he is 30) has taken over the artistic direction and Boy, that boy knows what he is doing...

Oh hello there...

For the past 3 seasons, Henry basically managed to create the most perfect, easy to wear, subtile and affordable clothes.

Pixie Choice

On Sundays I usually sleep long, have brunch prepared by my man and then start the intense cleaning of my apartment. I always have enough time to myself after that, to browse through the web for the latest news and updates. Inspired by Knight Cat and her pixiemarketpicks, I decided to choose mine as well. Lots of changes coming up for me very soon, and I'm making sure to include my wardrobe in the transformation. Check out these perfect looks to accompany me along the way.

Blog is in the air

Everywhere I look around.

And today I had a look at the Vice Style website and watched with delight Love Blogging, a series of - so far - 3 sleek little films featuring fashion bloggers (including Disney Roller Girl, Madeleine Ostile my personal favourite, Richard Nicoll and many others).

The films highlight the omnipresence and omnipotence of blogging today. Starting a blog has become very easy and almost second nature but these films give good tips on how to keep them fresh by highlighting the risk of losing readership if the everyday routine of posting is skipped (hum, something to be learned here?!), how blogs can now replace a portfolio and increase one's creativity in general.

It is an extremely inspiring and entertaining series, reminding us how cool Brits are. So, flex your fingers and blog 'til you drop!

AnOther Smell

AnOther Magazine is introducing their first fragrance- AnOther 13. These non traditional perfume images are self portraits by the talented and amazing photographer Lina Scheynius. She explains in a short interview how she just checked into a five star Hotel with a couple of Chloe outfits, started playing around, shooting on polaroids all by herself. As simple as that I want to smell as beautiful as these images ended up.

L'homme qui aimait les femmes

In the 1977 film by François Truffaut, 41 year old engineer Bertrand Morane (actor Charles Denner) is obsessed with women, and their legs. They are his inspiration, his raison d'être, and his cause of death. Morane recounts the numerous affairs that punctuated his life in an autobiography.

The most famous quote of the film is "Women's legs are like compass points, circling the globe and providing its balance and harmony".

This beautiful and tragic film is also a perfect excuse to admire the epitome of chic in the 70's.
