Carve me out in Carven
Created in 1945 by Carmen de Tommaso, a woman so small (1m55) she had to give up her architecture studies to design clothes that would fit her properly. She opened her store at the Rond Point des Champs Elysées. Her simple, casual yet oh-so elegant style quickly seduced French and Hollywood actresses. She later broadened her activities to menswear, kidswear, perfumes and... Air France stewardess uniforms.
Will you be my granny?
Now that Madame Carven has retired (she is 101), Guillaume Henry (he is 30) has taken over the artistic direction and Boy, that boy knows what he is doing...
Oh hello there...
For the past 3 seasons, Henry basically managed to create the most perfect, easy to wear, subtile and affordable clothes.
Here are some of my SS11 favorites:
Now, the good news is... keep your ears out for a flagship store soon to be opened in Saint Sulpice - Paris. A little bird whispered January 2011: chic chic chic!

Nagi Noda
Anyway, the lovely Georgia showed a couple of images from the late Japanese artist/video director/designer Nagi Noda (1973-2008).
Her hair hats are the most amazing thing ever: creepy, beautiful, funny, poetic, a bit revolting.
