Nagi Noda

There are a few things I am painfully ashamed of. To name a few: geography, mental arithmetic, talking with a pen hanging from my mouth and... modern art.
(and jazz and classical music).

Anyway, the lovely
Georgia showed a couple of images from the late Japanese artist/video director/designer Nagi Noda (1973-2008).

Her hair hats are the most amazing thing ever: creepy, beautiful, funny, poetic, a bit revolting.

Her videos combine perfectly humour and aesthetics. Forget about Jane Fonda, work out with poodles!

Another kiss and you'll be mine

I wonder what happened in the 80's that made video directors think "Hey, what we don't have 5 hot chicks pretending to be playing music without any sense of rhythm?". That is at least what British photographer and director Terence Donovan thought in 86, and I could never thank him enough for it.

I personally would be gutted to be the drummer.

In 88, über-cool rapper Tone Loc (wait, did I really say über? sorry) responds with his "Wild thing" video:

So, slick your hair back, don't be shy with lipstick and smoky eyes, grab a portable turntable, a guitar and a keyboard.... and more important do the wild thing!

Elvira Hancock

Lovely Elvira Hancock,
Wouldn't these styles fit so perfectly into your wardrobe? Style.com presented them the other week and I thought I let you know. See you later on the dance-floor for a Disco Inferno!
